THEY SAY...
  • Jay-Z celebrated the 10th anniversary of his successful album Reasonalble Doubt in NYC last night.
  • In a related story, Jay-Z is already thinking of coming back out of "retirement". He wants to start performing live again
  • Ozzy Osbourne has decided to play three additional sets at this year's Ozzfest on June 29 just outside Seattle. He's been trying to cut back on shows, but it looks like he wants to please his fans
  • Beck is almost done his new album? Less than a year after his last realease, Guero, he's finalizing his new one due in the fall
  • I don't personally like them, but Arcade Fire's new album is in the works too and is also almost done but with no release date yet.. come back for that later
  • After a long wait, the Postal Service are on their way to getting another album out. It seems that scheduleing problems have been the delay.. with Gibbard being in Death Cab for Cutie and all that jazz
  • News from Dubai, producer Dallas Austin (Madonna, Boys II Men, TLC, Aretha Franklin) has been in prison there for the past month after allegedly taking narcotics into the United Arab Emirates member state
  • In other music producer news, Phil Spector will go on trial in January for allegedly killing a B-movie actress nearly four years ago, a judge said on Friday
  • George Harrison/Beatles fans, mark your calendars: EMI will be releasing a deluxe remastered version of Harrison's 1973 album Living in the Material World on September 26
  • The case involving a contract dispute between record companies over a hip-hop album by Ja Rule and other rappers has been declined for hearing by the Supreme Court
  • Legendary producer, Arif Mardin, died yesterday in New York. He was 74 and was suffering from pancreatic cancer for about a year. He worked with the likes of Aretha Franklin and the Bee Gees
  • Remember I mentioned that the Crystal Method are releasing a song for Nike and Apple? Well, they're going to use it as a 45-minute running tool to help you run and exercise while wearing your Nike's, I guess
  • New Orlean's based festival, Voodoo Musical Experience, have revealed the last parts of their line up with acts including Flaming Lips, Wu-Tang, Kings of Leon and My Chemical Romance. Already on the bill include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Broken Social Scene, Duran Duran, Secret Machines and more
  • Moby stands up for animal rights! He's filmed a clip for the Humane Society, addressing factory farming and animal welfare
